All for the Greater Good

By Mika Bak & Dagan Rossini

Audience: Ages 14-18

All for the Greater Good is a story about education and resilience in times of conflict. This podcast is based on an interview conducted with an asylum seeker who was born and raised during the Eritrean War of Independence against Ethiopia. He fled several years after the country’s liberation and eventually sought refuge in Israel.

I couldn’t imagine back then thinking about peace or human rights. It was so hard to see into the future.

Drawing inspiration from NPR in its storytelling style and format, this piece is intended for anyone with a general interest in refugee education and migration globally, particularly with a focus on Africa. Listeners are encouraged to think broadly about the role of education, as seen through the lens of one individual’s personal journey toward peace, and his continued quest for justice and equality.
